We have been commissioned to sand blast the original Smithfield meat market in central London of all the original steel trusses and columns to remove all the lead paint.
We have been working on this project on behalf or the city of London authority.
All steels were sand blasted to S.A.2.5. mill finish and then airless sprayed with anti corrosion zinc primer paint to protect the steels from future contamination ready for intumescent fire protection coatings.
All lead waste was removed in sealed contamination sacks and removed from site in skip certified for contaminated waste.
We had 8 operatives working on this site.
The Smithfield market is being transformed into the new museum of London with retail and commercial units as well as bars and restaurants.
